On Tuesday, August 2nd, 2011, Operation Fuel and the Connecticut Association for Community Action (CAFCA) asked Congress not to cut $2.5 billion from the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) but instead to keep next year’s funding at the 2011 level of $5.1 billion.

Operation Fuel and CAFCA held a joint news conference as part of the National Fuel Funds Network’s second annual Summer LIHEAP Action Day, which is today. They were joined by Rep. Vickie Orsini Nardello of the 89th District and Sen. Martin Looney, Majority Leader of the Senate.
